Forza Horizon 5

It's my pleasure to finally be able to showcase some of the content that I produced for Forza Horizon 5. As with previous titles in the series, I worked within the roads team to help define the look and feel of the game's roads, from the very beginning concept stages, through production and finally to release. This saw me heavily involved in the initial planning and research phase, shaping and building on our existing workflows from Horizon 4, and later on mentoring junior artists, authoring roads content and helping to steer the development of roads-related tools and tech.

With the range of hurdles that Horizon 5 presented - a larger world featuring 10 distinct biomes, requiring a vastly increased number of different road types all with a much greater degree of visual complexity that one would expect on a new generation of consoles, not to mention the unique pressures of developing within the context of a global pandemic - it's no exaggeration to say that this was the most challenging installment in the series yet for us. I have to say that I think we've exceeded ourselves and I'm really proud of what we've achieved and incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to work with such a world class team!
